قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

قال آدم وحواء: ربنا ظلمنا أنفسنا بالأكل من الشجرة، وإن لم تغفر لنا وترحمنا لنكونن ممن أضاعوا حظَّهم في دنياهم وأخراهم. (وهذه الكلمات هي التي تلقاها آدم من ربه، فدعا بها فتاب الله عليه).

تفسير الجلالين
«قالا ربَّنا ظلمنا أنفسنا» بمعصيتنا «وإن لم تغفر لنا وترحمنا لنكونن من الخاسرين».

Translation of the meanings
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
