Zakat
Work out your nisab and how much zakat you owe at today's prices. The calculation runs on your device — what you own reaches neither us nor anyone else.
This is a calculating tool, not a fatwa. Zakat questions carry real scholarly disagreement — in deferred debt, trade goods, shares, and a minor's wealth and others. Whatever is unclear to you, refer it to the people of knowledge in your country.
1 — Today's price per gram of gold and silver
We don't fetch it from an outside service: a price one day stale changes the ruling. Enter today's price in your country from a source you trust.
2 — What you own that has completed a lunar year
The lunar year is a condition for all wealth except crops, fruit, and minerals. Anything short of a full year carries no zakat.
3 — The calculation
Enter the gold or silver price first so the nisab can be worked out.
- Total wealth
- Debts deducted
- Net zakatable wealth
- Nisab
Zakat due — a quarter of a tenth (2.5%)
Your wealth has not reached the nisab
Short by — and there is no zakat below the nisab.
Where it goes
An approximate calculation, for guidance only. The nisab weights and the quarter-tenth rate are settled and known; the rest of the details of what counts is open to disagreement — so ask the people of knowledge. Sources and method
