This page is short on purpose. What we don't do matters more than what we do.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no advertising trackers from anyone.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone.
- We don't ask for a phone number, an address, or a photo.
- We never read what you write in your reflections for any purpose other than showing it back to you.
What we store if you create an account

What stays on your device
Dark mode, the mushaf font size, your chosen reciter, the adhkar and tasbih counter, your prayer-time settings and your location, and whatever you enter in the zakat calculator — all of it lives in your browser and never reaches us. Your location is never sent to the server; prayer times and the qibla are calculated in your browser.
And the zakat calculator’s figures
What you type into the calculator — your cash, balances, gold and debts — is saved in your browser so it is there when you come back, and is never sent to our server or to anyone. It stays until you erase it: use the “Clear fields” button at the bottom of the calculator, or clear this site’s data in your browser. On a shared device, clear it when you are done — zakat figures show what their owner holds.
External services
Your browser reaches a third party in two cases only — and neither happens unless you press play:
- When you play a recitation — mp3quran.net for full surahs, everyayah.com for single verses, qurango.net for radio stations, verses.quran.com for word-by-word audio.
- When you play a dhikr — hisnmuslim.com. The adhkar texts are stored on our server; only their audio files come from theirs.
And nothing beyond that. The fonts are hosted on our own server — they used to load from Google Fonts on every page and now they're served from ours, so your browser no longer contacts Google at all. The mushaf text, the tafsir, the translations, and the adhkar and vocabulary texts are all on our server. Hadith search goes through our server alone. So if you don't play audio, your browser talks to no one but us. All our sources in detail.
Your rights
At any time you can export all your data in a single file, or delete your account and everything in it for good — no email to write, no waiting.
How to delete your Quran Secrets account
- Open quransecrets.com and sign in to your account.
- From the More menu choose Profile, then scroll to Your data.
- Press Delete account and confirm with your password. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
Your whole account: your name, email address, hashed password, country, goal and preferences, together with your bookmarks, notes, reading position, khatma, reading log, memorisation schedule and its reviews. They are removed from the database at once, with no retention period.
What is kept
A message you sent through the contact form stays in the admin inbox, because it is correspondence and is not linked to your account — ask in a second message and it is deleted. Aggregate daily statistics (visit counts and the like) are kept; they carry no name, no email and nothing that identifies you. Failed sign-in attempts are deleted automatically.
