Terms of Use
A short page, no filler. It comes down to two lines: the Quran is free for you to share as you wish, and anything touching worship goes back to the people of knowledge, not to a page on the web.
What this site is
A site for reading the Noble Quran in the Uthmani script, searching its text and listening to it, along with tafsir (exegesis), translations of the meanings, adhkar, prayer times, and memorization tools.
It is free for everyone, and most of it needs no account at all. An account takes nothing but an email, and it exists to save your reflections, your bookmarks, and your progress — nothing else.
Share the Quran however you wish
No one owns the text of the Noble Quran. Copy it, share it, give it away — no permission from us, no credit to us. That is the whole point of this site.
The same goes for what we compute ourselves — text statistics, occurrence counts, and parallel passages: take it and quote it. We'd like you to name the source, but we don't require it.
What isn't ours to permit
The tafsir, the translations of the meanings, the reciters' recitations, the adhkar texts, and the hadith scholars' rulings all belong to the people who produced them, not to us, and we reproduce them with attribution to their authors. Anyone who wants to republish them widely should go back to the rights holders.
We don't store the audio files at all — they stream from their owners' servers when you press play.
The limits of what to rely on
Prayer times are an astronomical calculation that runs on your own device; we checked it against an independent reference and it matched within a minute in 237 of 240 comparisons. Even so, the safety margins differ from country to country — the adhan at your own mosque comes before anything here.
The Hijri date here is a calculation, not a sighting, and moon sightings can differ by a day. For the Day of Arafah, Ashura, and Eid, go by your own country's announcement.
Hadith rulings are quoted from the hadith scholars exactly as they stated them; our classification of them is a reading aid, not a ruling of our own.
The zakat calculator is a calculation tool, not a fatwa, and zakat questions involve legitimate scholarly disagreement.
Ruqyah is a means; the healing is from Allah. It is no substitute for treatment or for seeing a doctor.
And whatever is unclear to you in your religion, take it to the people of knowledge in your own country, not to a page on the web.
Your data
No ads and no trackers. And your location never reaches us: prayer times and the qibla are calculated in your browser.
At any time you can export all your data in a single file, or delete your account and everything in it for good — no email to write, no waiting.
What we ask of you
That you not attribute a hadith to the Prophet (peace be upon him) without checking its ruling — which is why we show the ruling with every hadith, and warn you when your results contain anything weak or fabricated.
That you not run automated traffic against the site in a way that slows it down for everyone else.
And that you tell us about any mistake you find — we would much rather be corrected than hear nothing.
Changes and downtime
We may add sections, change them, or correct whatever turns out to be wrong, and the service may go down for maintenance or because of a fault. Most of the site works without an internet connection — whatever you have already visited stays available to you.
And if these terms change in any substantial way, the last-updated date at the foot of this page will tell you.
